the irony is that 40 years ago, during the cold war we no doubt would have had a plan that could have been rapidly put in place to deal with a country wide biological threatWe live in unprecedented times and what this legend has achieved is beyond belief. We could plan for the situation we are in but it would be massively wasteful for most of the time.
Those people who think he shouldn't need to do it are taking away from his efforts. He is just doing what he was clearly brought to do, serve his country.
I'm not really sure what tribute would fit his achievement but we are all very grateful.
We all like something to believe in and this is an amazing story, imagine if he was your dad,grandad,great grandad, that legacy will live on for ever.
He comes from a generation where pride meant something and I wish we could go back to times like that.

well done for being in the right place at the right time, with all the doom and gloom about we needed a story to give us hope and inspire us, and he was that man.
