I had stuff done by quality chrome, there was no quality. Its been a while so would check some of there work thats 1-2yrs old?
new looks good, 1-2yrs down the line and its flaking, because of pisspoor prep. Lack of copper layer to seal the base metal

they did my primary chaincase on my Norton and it had a dent and 2 gouges where the chain had come off .it came back perfect 150 quid got sick of getting stuff for a classic and it been crap I had some front pipes and rear silencers made for the bike stainless steel they came and collected the bike made them to fit and returned it. they cos £11oo quid but are mint

Based on the only 1 star review "very exspensive can get cheaper elsewhere, but good quality".
That review means i will be seeking a quote for the jukebox chrome. I've seen some horrors

Matt, I’ve never ever had any Crome done in my life
But I have been there as a consultant for a number of years.
I’ve seen em work, they do good work, most of it is top end classic car restorations

These sort of reviews crack me up. It was quality work but he could have it bodged elsewhere for much cheapness. So he gives them one star? I fell out with Amazon just before Christmas. 100% five star rating and 7 years. A complete pillock gave me one star because the book he bought was "too technical for him". I had a real go at them over it but they wouldn't budge they did say though that I could respond to the comment. I did, it wasn't pretty. Made me feel better though.
Yorkshire Plating Services in Bradford - actually use them for work plating of machine guides, etc.
But as mentioned above -send any plater crap and you will get plated crap back unless you ask and pay for it sorting properly. Finish and polish it properly and you will get something decent back.

I’ve only ever had one item chrome plated, a three branch manifold for a Mini , done at a now gone company in Cambridge, it still looked good ten years later, the best bit was the price, a packet of fags!
It's looking like new wheels maybe cheaper.
Right contacted Derby, they won't do them complete as they won't chrome int the recessed parts of the wheels
The wheels in question are rostyle, they are rivited together with presumably steel rivets, I can split them but how do you go about re riviting steel rivets.
Have 50t press and oxy gear, can they be heated and pressed in with tooling made for rivets in press, this may need a thread of its own..

I hear what you are saying but there is another side to this. Three or four times a year I set to and "Black" or Gun Blue a load of barrels, receivers screws and other assorted parts. I invested quite a bit of time, money and effort into it all, proper polisher, hot salts tank, Blacking Salts from Germany, you get the idea.
The biggest part of it is the prep work, the polishing if you will. Different makes of gun were finished differently at the factory, some high gloss, some satin matt and so on. Then I will get some bloke who has dismantled a Chinese airgun, sanded it down with 240 grit wet and dry and asks me to put it in the tank.
It is a flat NO. You are only as good as your last job and the preparation is reflected in the finish. If it looks like a Lunar Landscape before you put it in the tank, it will all be highlighted when you pull it out. It will look dire. So if anyone wants the job doing, they will have to wait and pay accordingly.
