Just looked on the " lathes.co.uk " site and there is a photo of an ML-3 which looks similar to yours.
Check out the site, there is a wealth of information abut early Myford's there.

i know very little about it, but the seller called it a myford 4.

If you look very carefully on the front face of the bed [not sure, left ot right - mine's on the left, you may find a number stamped into the metal - if it's a Myford you can find out date from that.

Yesterday I acquired three new blue toys (cordless angle grinder, drill and screwdriver) that fit very neatly on the aluminium box where I store my existing two angle grinders:

Makes a nice change not having to spend a long time figuring out where to store new stuff! Just need to make a wall-mounted rack for the gert big Makita battery charger.

If you manage to do an open top box out of these pieces and still have enough for hinged lid would you please get back to me , I'm after a box of roughly those dimensions to put the caravan hydraulic jack in now the cardboard box it came in has died.

That sounds like a very small jack that it would fit in a 125 mm sided cube. Tell me what you need anyway and I'll see what I can do.

i bought a metal spinney thing!

its pre war, and i mean ww1, not ww2.

its got a 'modern' add on, which is a stand for a motor instead of running it from a belt shaft. (im lead to believe it had a similar one originally but without the motor mount holes)

it needs.

a chuck key
a tool holder
a motor
a base making for it
a spot of tig brazing to repair a bearing housing
a reverse gear, someone seems to have switched it into reverse under load. however, i am also lead to belive with a modern motor on it i wont need reverse. we'll see.

oh and a load of tooling.

If you are ever near IWM Duxford, They have one of those in a lorry body Plus all the other stuff to make a complete workshop. including the engine that powers it all.

Mentioned to my niece i was going to spend some time making pictures on my pc and editing a few old pictures and today she did a drive by and dropped off her old Wacom pad, it need a new stylus as it fell apart but they are available so it is very useful, the down side is she has added a few stickers on the back

More re-acquired long story short I got it years ago but was left in the brothers for me and he didn know where . Found it this week clearing up . Need stripping down and cleaning but I don’t mind that (no mugs at hand of a Saturday evening)

Went to the club scrap skip today, out of it came four Jacobs no2 morse taper drill chucks in good nick a cast iron barbecue complete with grill two brass cogs & a couple of die holders.

The counter shaft unit you have behind the lathe was an optional extra, which is a nice feature. I also have one I'm going to use for a Lorch project lathe which I plan to put together, someday.
Did you also get the metal guard to cover the motor and drive belt pulleys ?

i wouldnt worry about it, i can fab something up by eye if i need to, but the thing isnt exactly bristling with h&s anyway. so not much point worrying too much

I was given this by my FIL, it's been sat under a tarp in his garden for quite a few years, probably done about 20hrs work tops

Will give a clean and service, will come in handy for the new garage

Last Saturday dropped off some scrap at the local yard and they had this on a pallet.

Its a 2013 model, motor didn't run and the pressure switch was smashed so was cheap



The box on the motor had taken a hit, I had a spare



The wires in the motor were rubbing and the insulation had worn away, sleeved with heatshrink and crimped on some new terminals and shes now a runner.

I’m about 3 miles from Duxford as the crow flies or should I say Spitfire? Seen the display you mentioned ,I really don’t visit often enough, such an interesting place. Well worth a visit
