Looking for somw advice from the membership as too what QCTP would be suitable for my Boxford model A.
After speaking to Doubleboost he has reccomended the aloris wedge type over the piston type and i have been looking at the various options, the one i keep going back to is the matchfit dmc 250-000 cuniform

i just cant make out the sizing guide as to whether this would fit my lathe, there is no mention of the size of T slot it will fit to etc, and i quite frankly dont have a clue where to look.

I've just ordered the same type of QCTP from BG, but a bigger one.

The three letter prefix (The one in your link is DMC) is the same sizing that Aloris use. Aloris' website give lots of information as to sizing of each QCTP, and how to work out which size you need (Base on distance from top of top slide to centreline of chuck, don't just go off lathe swing size).
So if you suss out from Aloris website which you need, you can then just buy from BG using the three letter reference.

The wedge type do seem to have the edge over the piston type. First project will be to make an additional handle in place of the nut then you don't need to search for a spanner everytime you want to move the tool round a bit.

T slots are a bit of a gamble, as are the stud length/size as to how it will fit. I'll need to make a sleeve for this one as the bore up the TP block is much larger than the stud which projects from the top of the slide.
Assume you will have some machining to do to get it to fit. Aloris will send you the tee nut machined to the size you want but our Chinese friends don't offer that service....
Be interesting to see what the quality is like when it arrives. I'll post up when it comes.

The AXA 250-111 wedge type, without a doubt. Don't go near the piston type unless you want to go for a Dickson. Then you're talking big money.

thanks seadog, yep that seams to be the one alright, i will have to get the bolt machined for my slide but i'm sure that wont be to difficult, thanks for the reply ...

No problem, I started with the piston type on my AUD. Under heavy parting cuts I could see the tool holder deflecting. The wedge type cures that. It's worth stripping and checking over when you get it.

I think you'll find it easier to make a new T-nut and stud. Then you can play and make new levers for it.
