You shouldn't be snapping 3mm drills with a cordless unless the back of the metal is not flat. 1mm will snap for a pastime, I'd be using a dremel or electric die grinder for those to get the RPM right up.
The biggest killer of cheap hss is they are brittle. But most significant is the poor overly aggressive grind.
With regrinding they work pretty well.
Have you ever tried regrinding anything less than 3mm? lol
Id rather the chinese bits than anything Milwaukee or Bosch branded, the quality of both is terrible. They design chinese manufacturered powertools but the accessories are terrible.
It's easy to slag off branded products but are we comparing like for like, I dont thing so. many brands have different ranges i.e bosch D.i.Y and professional and they are not comparable. And it's the same with drill bits you get what you pay for IMHO. As for how you use them is a different matter.
Highlight it and a little box will pop up.So are dormer and presto drill bits the same price as unbranded chinese one's and are they of better quality ?
I didn't say every thing branded is of top quality because I know it isn't.
Up to a point "you get what you pay for " as youv'e just stated. ( kram )
dont know how to crop the bit I want to quote !
The back of the metal is not flat, hence i'm snapping bits. As I said, I'm no amateur, i know what I'm doing and i've plenty of engineering experience.
