Sounds good - yes please, I'm always on the lookout for scrap metal stuff. I avoid buying new metal as a lot of the stuff I sell is for good causes ( e.g. our local primary school PTA) and the selling price is always limiting factor - no one wants to spend lots of money at the school fayre!!Just to confirm these are not carbide, they are tungsten alloy, but yes they will certainly be more durable than steel.
I do have a handful of dead carbide inserts as well as a some obsolete inserts I have no use for, want them? Could smash then up for your chippings?
Also got a jam jar full of funny little Insert things with carbide brazed on the end of it's worth the effort removing the carbide?
I'll get photos of all this actually if you are interested?
