Winchgirl needs some help

My Little Girl has almost finished her Degree.
She has a questing she needs a few pointers with, so any one work in this industry?
Here is a bit about her.
I am a third year BEng Civil Engineering Student due to grauduate July 2020. I have accepted a place to study MSc Water, Energy and The Environment starting in September 2020. The MSc is two days per week and so I was hoping to be able to work and gain some relevant experience for the remainder of the week. I am keen to gain experience in waste management, risk assessments and environmental auditing as well as sustainable/renewable energy.

Consultancy is good for the first part. The lot I worked for, for 25 years were huge into auditing, waste management etc. The only consultancy on the FTSE 250. They are not recruiting as most staff are furloughed

Not know anything about sustainable / renewable energy

Thanks problem is she has uni two days so too far to travel as she only needs a couple of days a week to fit around studies, I know she could do a crap job but she wants to make the most of the time so if she can do something relevant that would be better

I reckon you’ve more chance of god popping in for a brew than anyone taking on at the moment mate. Tell her to get a job doing anything for the time being until everything levels off

Its not for not its in Septemnberish assuming we are back to normal?

Given the upheaval currently I’d be more concerned whether she’s going to be starting uni in sept, let alone getting a job in that sector

My sister works for CGL who are consultancy based in Godalming, London and Harrogate (?). It doesn't look like it's directly your girls field but is related. I know they've taken on work placements / experiences in the the past and don't think they're short of work even in the current climate.

My dad works for the wood plc group i think it was Amec then Amec foster wheeler and then im sure it was something else or that its just about to change again anyway its one of the big ones energy devision that keeps getting bought out and changing hands at the moment, hes sub contracted out to the mod as he is a specialist in nuclear structures i can ask him if he knows of anything going at the moment for the future in terms of interns/work experiance/a possible job.

I agree but she still has to plan ahead and make contact ready for when we get some normality back
