Goldfish are a lot easier to keep than koi. Make no where near as much excrement that means you can get away with very little filtration.
Up until a few days ago there was nothing, not even a pump. There are a lot of plants though.
My new setup is an upper pond, soon to be full of reeds and other bog plants, a waterfall with 90% of the flow and a damp boggy bank covered in stones with little pools and more boggy plants. The lack of garden centres is hampering me a bit, I need plants and stone! But it's running well with what I have so I dare say it can wait until we can go out again.
I'm debating whether to buy some cheap small Koi or just leave it as it is, looking online I can get 5 assorted Koi for under £20.
