Odd Teeth on a Old Saw.

I have had this saw kicking around for a few years now. When I got it the whole item was badly rusted and covered in crud.

So I cleaned it up and preserved it.



It looks like a old Panel saw, until you look at the teeth.




The closest I have seen with that cut on the teeth was on a Frozen Seal Blubber saw.

If any one else can offer any more advise I will be grateful.

The Victorian Ice Saw I had/have looks like a Rip Panel saw.
Course teeth and a hard set.

This is a Modern version of a Block saw, the teeth have caps, like a circular saw blade.

Looks like it will cut on both strokes, the wee v between the teeth will help clean the cut out. I think your close with a frozen meat saw

There is no set on the teeth, like a butches knife.



It does cut on the push and on the pull.
I have dressed the teeth, each one was clearly done by hand. The angles were just a bit different on each tooth.

Took an edge vey well. But the metal is soft. I may need to harden and temper them.



Half way through the clean up.
The mark from the handle can be seen, RHS. But between the clamp and the handle mark you can see some nice patterns in the steel showing up.
