Wire feed problem Lincoln sp-135t

I have a Lincoln sp-135t and the wire feed no longer works. When the gun trigger is pulled I get current and gas but no wire is fed. I have tested the wire feed motor and it still works.

Any ideas where to look?

Contactor unit or circuit board. Not sure if that model uses a seperate Contactor unit (in which case most likely fault) or a circuit board mounted Relay...in which case it's probably that

most likely on the control board. As weldequip said, relays are the most common problem.

Yes you're right Shenion...thinking about it... if the Contactor (if fitted) is faulty you would still normally get wire feed but no arc, the opposite to above problem.

mine *just* did this in the middle of a project.

I have not taken it apart yet. I thought I'd poke around on the net first.

What does this part look like (part #?) and how much is it?

It ended up being some loose connection inside the machine.

well - found out the circuit board is ~$250 from Lincoln

Sweet fired the MIG up for the first time this summer. After about 10 minutes of welding it broke again.

hello, Have you checked the Liner, to see if it is plugged-up or blocked by dirt ? Take it out & blow it out with air !!

I'll clean out the liner and replace the tip next chance I get. The issue is with the feed motor when the trigger is pulled the gas comes out and there is arc but, the wire feed motor does not move.

Last time it was a loose connection somewhere inside of it.

It turned out to be a loose connection between the wire speed potentiometer and the coupler on the circuit board. Took less than 5 minutes for me and a friend to fix.
