So today I've assembled the Milwaukee drill
Essentially I have to explain by words how I repaired it because I couldn't make any photos because the phone was under charge and I'm trying to avoid to use it with dirty hands so.
The drill has been saved from the thrash maybe 2 years ago ,it always had a faulty switch , originally I had to repair it by rebuilding the switch and loosing the speed control ,it worked for awhile.
Until the last year while working on a job and it decided to be independent , essentially it always worked fine but sometimes it was there alone connected to the mains power and just switches it on without control
So we decided to retire it and I was always intended to repair it but the money effort wasn't worth and I was wondering about using it on a mag drill stand but that's a project for another day (maybe)
Took off the cover (main handle body /motor housing)
Cleaned it up
Took a part the switch and started playing with it .
The original repair I did was a simple copper wire soldered on the contacts (which were burnt) but that was causing the issues up-mentioned.
Dugout in the microwave oven parts box and took a microswitch (16A 230V with normally closed contact)
Modified the original switch body to allow me to put the microswitch inside
So I've cut an indentation and glued the switch in position
When I depress the trigger ,the slide release the pressure on the microswitch and close the contact .
When I release the trigger ,the slide (which is spring loaded) returns in position and push the button on the microswitch opening the circuit.
Done that I've rewired the motor connections inside and soldered the connection .
It actually works so I'm satisfied View media item 9877That's the drill ,I have only this picture of it
I did refresh the M10 female threads for the handle

Enjoyed making this one. Still needs work but slung the sequences together for a listen

TYA, Are you sure that its a saw set? Looks like SWG wire gauge that I have seen before.

Today I went to the workshop as I was getting a delivery of Aluminium, whether I will be using it I have no idea as I am not sure if the skipper wants me to continue fitting out his new boat or not.

Yesterday the boatyard shut but 10mins before they did I quickly cut some Alu so that I could get the blacksmith to roll it. The rollers left it a bit manky but it will clean up no problem and today I stuck it together.

Unfortunately the torch slipped during the welding so there is an ugly bit, I could sort it but it won't matter as it will function as intended.

Anyone know what my new gadget is for?

Nope.

It is a device to help me because my knees are knackered and also my finger joints are getting worse so can't lift/grip things as before.

Makes it much easier to get the cylinders into the back of the car as I have a handle to grip rather than just trying to hold onto the rounded base of the cylinder.

Been making it around other stuff for a while now, managed to get it hammered into the ground today. 25x25x2mm square hollow section, 10mm round bar used for the hooks, the tray is a pizza oven tray hooks and tray are bolted into the square section to allow it to be hammered into the ground. It'll have some bird feeders on it when I fill them up.
