Gives a recirculating blast of Air/degreaser via the gun and then switch over reservoirs to the water for washing off, also has an extractor fan and light fitted so you can see what you are doing without breathing in the chemicals.

No mess and can swap between solvents and rinse

I use envirozest, not cheap, but a decent degreaser. I had a lot of hassle with the insurance not wanting anything flammable in the workshop (given the welding activities) but eventually found this stuff. like I say it's expensive for what it is, but with their promotion deal and their dilution rates I'll have enough for life. Apparently it's good for the environement too, well at least when it's clean, when it's full of the crap we've cleaned off it's going to just as bad as the rest.

just don't use it in the ultrasonic cleaner at 80°C, on carbs, turns then a nice furry white....

Hot water heater, metal container, washing powder and leave.

I have used neat traffic film remover and a paint brush in a bucket. being stupid didn't wear gloves a day later all my skin on hands started peeling and fell off good stuff but lethal on skin

got the sludge off, suddenly dawned on me to use sump sucker , which you normally just put down dip stick tube if you have a fuba drain plug,or are lazy, worked a absolute treat, remove injectors etc next /comp test...you know the sequence

Just stick them in dishwasher when oh not looking.

I have put motorcycle crankcases in the dishwasher after degreasing and bead blasting, also cleaned up clear plastic brake fluid reservoir and washer bottle from my BMW CSl recently, have to be careful though, had no idea how long the program ran for, sweating buckets that she would return before it was finished!

I realised why I nearly kept the old stainless steel sink I removed when In redid the kitchen.......seem ideal for this application
Have to wait until I see someone chucking another one out!

I used to have a parts washer in the main workshop and while it was handy, it wasn’t really that much better than a bucket and brush. Certainly not compared to the valuable real estate it used up in the shed, remembering it’s basically going to be a wet area.

I have a big butler sink set up outside and do all the wet work out there.

Have to wait until I see someone chucking another one out!

My parts washer is a stainless sink and a Holley fuel pump, needs an old light in series to calm the fuel pump down a bit.

rebuilding an old safetyclean parts washer today, got the pump freed off and will be shortening the tube as the steel drum is a bit rusty, will probably put a plastic bucket inside with a thick plastic rubble bag inside that for the fluid, as for fluid I do have diesel / petrol mix, mostly diesel, hard to ignite, may try that or diluted TFR, maybe use the diesel for soaking first and then the TFR?

I really liked that hot wash that colnerov posted, head came out super clean, might be using that method for parts , just need to sort what chemical/cleaner to add.

Well it works very well, used 50% TFR mix for a start, don't like the smell of diesel for days after using it, although it does clean well, mounted it on an old Tesco trolly, used to get them dumped outside work, rang Tesco several times and they could not be bothered to collect them!
