Here is the latest victim..... The bucket is 48" wide with a 1/2" floor. Someone (or many someones) have been at this bucket before. Plating, reinforcing, stitching.... so it all has to go.
First I'll cut the floor and wear bars about a 1/2" from where they are welded to the side plates and and remove the floor in large sections.
Then I will remove the remaining floor and wear bars sections using a carbon arc, for this I ran a 3/8" rod. Grind any remaining weld and slag..... clean up the area to be welded.
At this point I'll make a template of the bucket profile so that I can bend the new floor... Let's cut the floor material.
A few more bumps in the brake and this will fit real nice!
