and you kept your money in your wallet without being relieved of itDoesn't hurt to get another opinion; you don't have to take it.
One of our dogs had a problem with her claws, vet (newby in the practice) reckon she had a very rare condition.
The only way to confirm this was to remove a whole digit and send it away. At a cost of 350quid.
I didn't take her, my wife did. So straight on to the telephone to speak to the vet. It was sooooo rare she had found 2 other dogs in the practice with it.
I’ve known the practice owner for 30yrs, so asked to speak with her. Her advise was "you’ve got some Suralan (topical fungicide) stick some of that one her feet and claws for a week and see what happens."
sure enough it cleared up, and my pooch kept all her toes.
Cost ZERO

There are many areas in life its good to be cheap, but your pets health isn't one of them. Get a second opinion from another vet in your area, not a mig welding forum.Much cheaper
they can chase cats even if they have to crawl after themA vet told me that my dog needed operations on both his hips at a cost of €3500 or he would lose the use of his legs within a year, that was about 12 years ago, he didn't get the operations and is still able to chase cats around the garden.
Definitely get a second opinion when it comes to vets
The problem with that is all the local independent vets have been bought out by chains, its rare you see the same vet twice, I was ripped off by the last vet to the tune of £350 The MRCVS gave her a telling off but I never got a penny back, so I no longer trust them. There are many areas in life its good to be cheap, but your pets health isn't one of them.
