One of the boats that broke its mooring was actually Pete's, and it was his son helping me.As they say, "It's a small world."
I've known Peter for years, firstly through bikes then it continued with clay shooting. Not seen him in a while but do still see his brother Geoff two or three times a month for beers.
My thermals blew off the washing line causing light to moderate concern.
For you or the person they landed on?My thermals blew off the washing line causing light to moderate concern.
That's exactly what I was wondering but couldn't bring myself to be the first to ask.For you or the person they landed on?
Not the last storm, this one's for the next storm..
Yesterday I watched two "builders" take out an internal chimney stack, damaging the rest of the roof in the process. The resultant hole was covered by a plastic sheet and two planks. This morning, as storm Dennis is approaching, this is how it looks.

They have also taken out the upper floor side of the house, leaving the roof held up by wooden props.
Heavy rain and strong winds just starting here....
Perry, whats going on here? View attachment 212561
The whole house was rendered and painted cream but they have chipped it all off the back except for that small patch. This is a conservation area so it will eventually have to be restored as it was unless they follow the usual practice round here of giving the council a large enough bung.Perry, whats going on here?
The red bricks are a puzzle too as they were under the rendering. My guess is bomb damage repairs as we are very close to the RAF Kenley wartime fighter base and, according to Bomb Sight, at least 3 bombs fell within 50 yds of that property.Looks like the whole piece is held up with blocks and tilted to the right?
Well you wouldn’t expect a badger to go near the shaving section
