Hi folks,
not been on here for a while,so forgive me. It's just that I can't sit in front of the computer,other things won't get done
Anyway,done some welding on an exhaust system today. Aggravating when the wire kept on kinking between the wire feed and the entrance into the lining. The lining kept on shifting away out of the machine as the lining wasn't quite aiming towards the wire...grrrr

...I did find a resolution,by lightly trapping the lining

I've not had a problem since Also,I found use of the earth wire from my broken mig,an extension lead

So now it is running as it should,rate my welding

The liner should extend right up to the rollers. i cut the end of mine to a V to make it real close.

Are you sure the wire is not supposed to go in the other groove? Seems to line up better.

I agree that it looks as though you aren't lined up. But the 'serrated' grooves are for soft wires, I believe. Doesn't the roller come off and turn around. Usually the furtherest groove away from you is referenced on the outer side of the wheel facing you. Entry to the liner looks pretty chewed up. Now, I'm guessing here as I'm still on my first reel, but I would think that there is a change as the wire runs off the spool. On a new reel, there is much less wire 'in the air' and the angle it makes on the intake side of the rollers is pretty straight. As the spool runs down, the wire has to come up to get to the rollers. This may well change your set up that has worked until now. So although it may have worked ok until now, the change on the spool may have shown up that you're on the wrong groove.

I thought the larger groove on the roller was for thicker wire,I assume the .6 wire won't grip
