Switch question

Photo is one end of a two way light circuit. This end is a dimmer, the other end is a rocker switch.
The boss wants lamps that can't be dimmed and happy with just a switch at one end. Which two wires do i need to link in this chocky block to close the circuit and leave it switched at th'opposite end only?

connect the brown and one of the others together. if the switch is upside down transfer the brown to the other wire and it be the right way up . if there mixed up it either wont work and it wont blow up if its wrong

there supposed to be very good and are getting used more and more I like the push in connectors in light fittings but old school on chocboxes with strip connectors in and the old type jointboxes

I'd go for option 1, I've been using Wago stuff for a few years with no complaints.

Another two questions... metal clipping to stop cables falling in a fire, are these acceptable or should punched strapping be used?
Which zones should metal clips be used - just where its surface run in habitable areas?

those clips are fine or you can use galv band for bunches of cables that run across ceilings in all rooms now . not just emergency exit passageways and stairs if your running plastic mini trunking you get the metal clips to go inside or if your using plastic conduit you just use the metal saddles

Yes premature collapse applies everywhere now, not just fire escapes the reason i bought the dewalt cable stapler

Unless of course its behind a ceiling or similar

so in effect just earthing through the screws to the socket front earth the back boxes don't need earthing both should be on socket

Pretty much yeah. Why don't the back boxes need earthing? Lots of people do?
