Three 15 inch dia x 35-40 foot trees at the bottom of next doors garden fell in the early hrs around 04.00 hrs. they demolished a fair bit of their posh bespoke wooden fencing . They landed away from our property , that will teach them to throw their dog muck from their two dogs over the fence and enhance the top foot of so of soil around the trees for the last 15 years . Our oaks don't get fed , are much taller than their trees were/ are , I'm betting our trees have tremendously deep roots as well due to the area they are in being covered in 6 inches of reinforced concrete .

Was quite bad for about 5 mins,
Didn't really do much, I built my fence way overkill so it'll never drop ... Next doors on the the other hand, probably only put in about 6" into the ground they braced it though for this.

had to put up with a stupid idiot who has let there garage rot over the years

had plenty of warning 3 years + that there roof is leaking in

would rather spend there money on buying stupid parts that they dont need and other vehicles instead of maintaining there property

spotted 36+ insulated roof sheets 5m+ being sold at 500 bidding on ebay refused to buy them

one drains a 4" gully for a 25m x 10m yard it does flood in sever rain

its high winds and heavy down pours and wanting me to use a tarpoline sheet to protect the roof in that weather

didnt like being told im not the idiot if you think im putting a sail up in that weather think again

you will have to put up with the flooding and leaking in

all you can do is move your stuff out of the way

wasnt happy that i wasnt willing to do it but certainly got told in no uncertain way what i thought

He supplied. 6' fence 6" gravel boards and 8' posts. He leveled the site. Steps all over the place and barely a foot of post in the ground in places
Warned him repeatedly. He looked at the bottom line. Saved 3 quid a post. Hate that mentality.

A prat went surfing down in Hastings (6 miles south of us), and they found his board washed up but no surfer so mobilised the RNLI and the Air Sea rescue helicopter. The lifeboat practically turned over and was rolling in the surf (video shown on local news) and extremely dangerous conditions for the poor old helicopter crew, meanwhile the surfer had landed a few miles down the coast.

Very irresponsible I think. Effectively putting others at risk for his own thrills. Should be charged the cost of the mobilisation and have his board broken over his head, but then I'm a member of the hanging and flogging brigade !

Saw that on the national news

We had one here that caught in an under current and couldn’t get back to shore. Eventually he was found on his board half way to Ireland. Helicopter and a few lifeboats were out searching. It’s about time people doing “risky” sports should be made to have insurance. I have insurance for my activities, my choice.

I had to move a few tree branches off the road - but that is normal around here.
For the first time ever I saw the river at the bottom of my garden from my house. It runs in a 30' deep ravine - was up to the top
Would have to rise another 100' to get to the house though
Farmer had his wish though - one of his sheep died after falling down the ravine - he couldn't get to it and hoped for a flood to wash the poor thing away.

Parked the forklift in the wrong place in the warehouse - someone had moved the bucket - so now the seat is drenched will need drying out. Had to rebuild a few stacks of pallets outside last night that had toppled.

Not too bad considering. Funny how Wales gets the worst weather and the least damage! And Northerners think they are tough

Flown In Weather like yesterday before
Always had a few people on the beach to help launch and land and just in case.

Usually half hour or so running through what ifs and maybes.

I was in my new workshop most of the afternoon (i.e. through the worst of it around here) and I will confess to being a little nervous. But, no water ingress and the roof is all still on, so, happy days!
