Got recommended this on here, surprisingly fine considering the price: https://www.screwfix.com/p/titan-tt...uM09Vf-4a6UqelKM1-BPiUFv3i9UWBHxoC_REQAvD_BwE
Had a look at that one earlier are the stones ok I guess at that price it's worth a goThese are worth the money. A surprisingly tough machine, keep the receipt and you cant go wrong for that price. The only gripe is the rests are a little flimsy but for tungstan and drill bits you won't be using them anyway.
I can fully understand having a top end unit if you are running them for hours every day but I have a couple of B&Q specials, both of which I've had for 20+ years. I've never observed the duty cycles but they only get used intermittantly. It will only be intermittent
With this kind of thing it's very difficult to be certain that you aren't just buying a generic unit anyway. I suspect if you were buying a top quality unit you'd be into £100s.
I need to be able to move it and store it so can't fix to a bench I have limited work top space
They’re all much of a muchness these days unless you find something old. Having had a couple I would always go for the 8 inch. The wheels last longer and the curvature is much more gentle than the 6 inch ones. Decent tool rests can be made easily from a bit of scrap 3mm mild steel.
The only one I own that runs smooth enough to not be bolted down is a creusen.

Can't agree with that, the SIP professional or Axminster trade are leagues above most you can buy off the shelf, even if they are still cheapies.
Always fancied a Metabo but quite spendy when the SIP was half the price and perfectly serviceable.
The 8 inch titan from Screwfix is excellent value for money too.
