machine name plate rivet /fixings

most older lathes and machines had the name /info plates held on with a little hammer rivet /nail type thing

looking to buy a couple - what are they called?

Drive screws - hard bit is knowing which size, the length is easy, but the diameter is given as a number... Surprisingly expensive, too!
Measure yours (diameter over "threads" or size of hole for 'em and length of shank), I may have the right ones and a stamped envelope to spare?

If the originals have fallen out rather than been carefully removed you might want to go to the next size up and get a pilot drill as well. They dont seem to reset very nicely.

I find they usually tap out from behind quite easily. That of course assumes you can get to the back of them!

They are a great idea . They are just a tosser when they have broken half way in. As with some old machines this is often the case.
