I Can remember my Dad's when I lived there. They were B reg and an N reg But not my own....or his now. LolI got a mate like that will rattle car and part numbers off endlessly, I can't even remember my mobile number these days
Also been told it's still on the goOf all the bikes and cars I've had I only remember 1 reg, CTY 50K ( BSA Rocket 3) Can't even remember present cars reg. Why's that then?

Oddly enough it never let me down, but my cars did and wives etc etc.Thats cos you spent so much time looking at the front number plate while you were pushing it

Yes agree, think I could get mine into the 30s MPG if I exercised it enough. They were, along with the triumph trident (same bike), thirsty old beasts though.
Thank god it's not just me....My brain works in the same way, can remember car numberplates from way back as a kid and all sorts of data like that. However......I'll run out of bread or milk and need to get some on the way home from work, absolutely no chance I'll remember to. never....not once.
Wife corrected me luckily
Earliest car reg. I can recall was on my dad's Zephyr that he'd swapped his Merc 300D 'Adenauer' for after the starter failed (£45 for a new one in 1971)... the Ford was FUG 288D, Black Cherry in colour, I think there's still a touch-up can of paint in the old dear's garage for it
I used to walk past a neighbour's red MG roadster with glazed hardtop in the early 70s.. AOI 8933. The owner left the area but dropped in on my mother a couple of years back; I recalled his reg. plate for him
My French teacher drove an orange Mini RXG 500M in the late 70s... my first car in '81 was a Simca van DGE 440K... can't recall my first bike's plate, oddly (it was a W-reg CB100N).

Built a Merlin kit car with my dad for one of his customers in '82 - XEF 990Y. It was still showing on DVLA until a couple of years ago, now I think it has an export marker on it.
Noel Edmonds' Swap Shop phone-in number was 01-811-8055 - I remember watching the first episode (1975?), it was a revelation. I'd swear Noel looks exactly the same
