RIGHT, I'm not racist or xenophobic, so I can't agree with this, and I do get fed up with people knocking Chinese doctors or foreigners or travellers. As said there are always anuses in every culture.

Absolutely no offence taken. South Africans generally are not shrinking violets. They don’t take offence easily. They call a spade a spade, are hardworking and know how to laugh at themselves. Contrary to popular belief, they are not a bunch of black or ethnic minority hating racists. Far from it. Funnily, if you can use that word,I have been subjected to and seen far more racist activity since I moved back to the Uk from South Africa 12 years ago than I ever did in South Africa. ( I would classify myself an honorary South African since I was born and bred in the Uk,but lived there about half my life) They are a very culturally diverse country with a lot of Brits,Italians,Portuguese,German,Jewish and Indian people living there. Not so many Mexicans despite not having a wall. Yes, there is good and bad in every nation. Yes,a lot of people are out to get you. The first person that mugged me was Indian. Do I make sweeping statements about Indians and hate all of them? No I dont. I am lucky to count a couple of Indians as extremely good friends. They would give me the shirt off their back if I asked. I do count myself unlucky for meeting an Indian with twatlike tendencies. The bunch of scrotes that used me for target practice when they tried unsuccessfully to relieve me of my van were black. Do I hate all blacks? No I don’t. The nurse who looked after me in hospital was black. If it wasn’t for her attitude and care that she lavished on me,I would not be here today. I had black friends and colleagues that came to see me in hospital and cried at the sight of me. Ok, I ain’t no Picasso,and obviously am a sight for sore eyes,but those are genuine South Africans, irrespective of colour.

So, to minimutly. , sorry you had ONE bad experience with a South African. Get some help. Take your blinkers off...You don’t know what you are missing ....

@Johnnybravo, I have liked your post. A sort of appology for generalising if you like, I shouldn't have posted it.
My experiences not limited to one person though, but a couple of companies, one of which caused me personally to be out of pocket by over £1500 and hundreds of hours. They were truly a company of liars, and in the end I just bailed out and walked away. The last communication I had from them was that they were going to send someone over to sort my problems out - but they wanted me to pay them for it. Walking away was the best thing I ever did.

There was a good few south Africans over here during the boom. There were a couple in the gun club, extremely good shots, especially with pistols. Not to be messed with, but life in south Africa in parts was extremely rough and tough.

Many years ago I worked for Ted Toleman of F1 and power boating fame (he built the boat for Branson’s transatlantic Blue Riband bid), after he sold the business he moved to SA with some of the family, one of his twin sons was shot dead in a carjacking at a filling station, was only 41.

I'd be wary after a company I worked for had an order for 3 welding machines (I think it was for making "quickstage" type scaffold) they sent an "engineer" over to shadow the build of the first machine and he logged every single component/process that went into the building of it. The first machine was shipped, installed and commissioned then they paid 1/3rd of the total and cancelled the order for the other 2 machines as they had enough info to build the others themselves. We had parts made to build 3 machines so now had a load of useless parts and ended up making a loss on the project

I believe the Chinese do the same, or did until recently. Any product sample or prototype sent out for production was immediately copied and pirated.

You can't condemn an entire country/society though, murders happen every day in this country.
