Need the help of somebody with a bit of wisdom
Am in the middle of trying to develop some settings tables for upcoming jobs using one of these machines, along with some stick procedures. All on 316 stainless.
Am using 1.0mm 316LSi wire, and 98/2% mix gas.
Need to develop settings ranges for vertical plate butt and fillet, 2x pipe to plate fillets and a 6" 6G butt. All heavy plate/pipe, nothing thinner than about 15mm. All vertical up. No stoving.
Give me a tig torch or a set of tongs and a quiver full of lowHy rods, and am in my element. But with this, im stumped.
Am getting ok ish results with the positional fillets, but high crowned beads that are "rolling over" under gravity when capping off.
With the 6G butt (its tig rooted and hot passed) am getting excessive heat input, and narrow, high profiled beads.
Cant seem to get the machine to settle into a nice flat settled puddle which cools fast (as i move along/around the joint) with a sound similar to whats on the youtube vids about the welder (none of which give any settings ranges at all).
The bits that are done with the RMD program for the root are ok, its the Pulse settings that i cant work out.
Cant get my head around the settings ranges, and need a starting point if anyone can help.... ie a wire speed to start of with, but also for the "voltage trim" and "arc control" settings so have got somewhere to start
Thank you guys!✌
