Chicken shed base nearly complete, not all my own work, Bryan does the stonework, I'm his labourer. I can start the chicken shed itself after I've trimmed a few trees back. There are a few M12 stainless studs sticking up to hold the shed down. The area in front will be paved with stone flags. The block and beam will be covered by the shed so no concrete will show. The bit underneath is for feeding and cover for the chickens during the day but will probably be home to the odd wheelbarrow.

Shed will be timber framed sitting on top, full height so no more bending down to shovel guano etc. This is the front elevation taking into account the prevailing wind comes from the right

and the plan view, there will be guano flap on the right so it can be scraped straight into a wheelbarrow outside. The layout may change a bit once we have the building up. I've got power and water to the shed.

I had a Meta alarm fail in my TRX850 like that! It was 15 years old and I sorted it out in my workshop so not as bad as yours!

I also had an alarm/immobiliser fail on a Triumph Sprint ST 955. It was a lot easier to fix than the Fazer (especially as it was in the garage at the time rather than in the work car park), but it was rather noisy until I'd managed to unplug the speaker (earplugs AND ear defenders for that job)!

Did you triple varnish the underside to seal the wood of the draining board ? I ask because almost every one I've taken out suffered rot after a couple of years use

Both sides done to death. Stops it curling up as well. and a drip grove as well to stop the water tracking. I dont like sealing the sink to the work top as it is usually a complete eyesore

Hello Morrisman, if you like a challenge try wiring a 70's Citroen DS. Citroen used black cable throughout with coloured sleeves on the ends to distinguish. Except by now all the sleeves are beige and the insulation is falling off the cable.
I'm re-wiring my DS Safari, originally it had four fuses and one relay. So far I'm have 16 fuses and 16 relays. I've added a lights left on buzzer, interior light delay, handbrake warning light and a rear wiper and washer. The switchgear is marginal at best so I have put relays on every switched circuit, even a relay for the starter solenoid. The ignition switch is almost £200 so I try to take the pressure off. I used British Standards wiring colour codes. As Hood said, vehicle wiring products are the business.
I must admit I am not a fan of the blue and red crimp on connectors. I expect the ones I used in my youth were cheap and nasty. I still prefer to use brass terminals, crimped and soldered.

Buy a single 100 mtr reel of 14 & 20 amp etc. vehicle wiring multi strand single core cables that have a abrasion resistant & heat resisting outer plastic instead of using different coloured cables use the small Hellerman cable silicone rubber sleeve numbers so all you need to do is have th same numbers on each end of the same cable . Draw up a wiring diagram and make a chart of all cables numbers in numerical order according to what you are doing and also give them a designation ie ammeter cable , LHR taillight , LHR tail light earth . etc .etc.

I used to work on a lot of specialist military vehicles , that being one offs were all wired up like that , it's easier than a manufactures wiring scheme diagram . The only thing was I needed two different sized Hellerman pliers because a few cables were really heavy 200 amp ones .

Make up a simple tall tote box with a wider base and slide a split pinned reel bar in below the carry handle I used to have it wide enough for three different reels and enclosed the base in for wire striper , Heller man's on top of a 12 compartment tray of numbered silicone sleeves ( ordered in by the hundred ) . The bigger sleeves were kept in a different tote box that only had two reels of cable on it .

Put a small round nosed upstand round the wall facing sides , varnish as before then , use wet varnish to glue it just before you screw it one with brass screws in pre drilled & counter sunk holes .

That looks good Andy , will you be storing your feedstuff in a steel rat proof old fridge , freezer laid on it's back . Are you going to put up a gutter & rain barrel with tap not only for the chooks but a handy source of quick cleanish water in the garden ?

Normally allow 15mm or so overhang then run a bead around the top of the sink.
Sealed it but isn't visible.
As above. Always put a drip around and seal well.

Have an undermount in oak to do soon.

That looks good Andy , will you be storing your feedstuff in a steel rat proof old fridge , freezer laid on it's back . Are you going to put up a gutter & rain barrel with tap not only for the chooks but a handy source of quick cleanish water in the garden ?

We have rat proof storage bins already and loads of water butts, I added an IBC to the butts last year. I was going to say that we have no problem with water up in the Pennines but we did have a drought the year before last, many farms had to pay for water by bowser if they didn't have a borehole. There will be guttering and the plan is to use rainwater to feed a small drinking pool then soak away the overflow for now but in the longer term we may store it as I have some other ideas for the area behind the barn

To be honest not too much was practically already out
Yesterday my tool was on fire for the pain all day long , blood .
This morning no pain , toilet little bit of pain ,bad words to God and nothing more ,and just just little bit of blood
Hope that the others will be similar to this
Unfortunately I did not stick my hands in the WC to recover the stone because I won't do that
So if I will kick out another one I will be more careful to not lose it

70s Citroens used two fan belts and two hydraulic pump belts. You would hope if you bought two 975mm belts they would be the same, unfortunately not. So I made this thing today. Put both belts on and pull the sliding block. You can then see if they are both the same length. I had six belts in stock, four have made matched pairs, the other two will come in handy one day.

Nice .....I'm after something like that in inch high letters in classic Roman capitals that makes the work" MAIL BOX " so I can put it on our new stainless steel mail box as we still get the local Polish postmen banging on the door to deliver a singe letter . We don't have a letterbox in the triple glazed door as it would knock the heat efficiency rating on the head if we did . Do you take orders if so please PM me . ?
