Hi Guys,
I have been reading some of the old threads regarding sanding down rust and protecting the mental as much as possible on cars.
My car has some very small service rust spots and stone chips from the roads, all down on the sill areas really and some slight early signs of rust on the wing arch by the wheel on the very edge of the mental.
I want to tackle this before it gets any worse... i have listed below what i plan to do from reading threads on here can anyone tell me if sounds right.
1. Am going to sand down the rusty spots and stone chips with a little sand paper, apply some bilthamper gel to make sure all the rust is off the spots and will help with any hard to get to areas with paper.
2. Clean the bare mental (degrease) apply some epoxy 2k primer looking at the Lelchler one everyone mentions on here as it will be brushed on or dapped on lower parts of the car so wont be noticeable as such if its not smooth service once dried.
3. finally paint or touch up the stone chips with original car colour probably use a 2k direct gloss as its a white car.
I understand it will be expensive just for very small amounts of rust/chips but i will use it on some areas under the car also once the weather is a little warmer.
Thanks
Matt
