I have no knowledge of the Kemppi, but I do have the Lorch.
I’ve not used it a huge amount, but from what I’ve seen so far it’s great. I need to sort a 32A supply for it yet so I haven’t been able to turn up the volume but on 16A I have no complaints. It has a massive 4 wheel drive wire feed mechanism, and a really handy courtesy light. All in all it’s a brilliant machine and I’m looking forward to the Xmas break so I can get a decent supply wired in for it.
As I said I know nothing about the Kemppi so I can’t make any comparison.
Thanks for the link Gordon.I had a Lorch 252 control pro , Lovely solid well made machine, One of our members is The UK importer, Matt 1978
Thanks for commenting. Yours is the pro control model with the 4 rollers then.
I can’t find much info on them other than no complaints, there are videos of the larger
models, which really weld well.
Whereabouts did you get yours.
Thanks Mankulhttps://www.kemppi.com/en-US/offering/family/kempact-ra/pdf/
According to the literature the 251 comes with a 2 roll drive (its a pretty nice one though) and two variants - 251R (regular) and 251A (adaptive with synergic settings, easy setup etc)
The control pro Lorch with it's 4 roll feeder is pretty nice looking. Will be easier to feed aluminium, if that's ever a need. Other than that, I'd go with whatever deal you can best get from a local supplier...
Hi Richard, thanks for your honest opinion. I agree they are very different, transformerKemppi kempact 251a. Aka the pressure washer.
Not remotely in the same league as an Mpro. My opinion is obviously bias towards the lorch but honestly and truthfully these two machines are at different levels of the industrial spectrum. I work regularly with a couple of distributors that are often swapping failed pressure washers out with the Mpros.
Don’t get me wrong kemppi make a good welder and some of their gear is industrial spec but the kempact pressure washer isn’t in that list. If this is the short list then my advice is definitely go 252Mpro. It was built to go to war.
inverter migs can be just as reliable as transformers. I just haven’t heard great things said about that particular one.transformer
