Lovely horizontal variation of the gas bottle theme. Loved the Stephenson Rocket touch to the smoke stack top. Does it burn really well, have you got any plans to make an ajustable air inlet so that you can control it with the door closed,

The smoke stack when I originally cut it looked so boring being cut straight across ...so introduce a bit of Stephenson flair and voila!
Controlling the burn is a bit of a problem, the MKII version will probably have an adjustable notched catch assembly rather than door vents as they seem easier to create and should have the same effect.
I have seen designs that use welded in gate valves to control the airflow but they look very bollocky as a result.

Those gas bottle heaters are going to clean the country side up of unloved bottles, only untill the pikeys catch on and they will start selling them instead of discarding them.

Plastikote Barbeque paint £3.99 from No-Frills improved it no end.

Don't know about the Pikeys it's the one thing they won't take around here (yet!) even if you ask them.
Empties are already popping up on fleabay though.

Burns fine though not super quickly as I am told some with bigger smokestacks can do, the stack on this is about 2" dia.
It's worked so well that I intend to make a larger one to keep my workshop warm in the colder months this will probably have a larger (4"?) stack, still thinking about designs for this one at the mo.

Check the overspray on the doors. Plastikote also do a stove paint dont know if it takes a higher temp, but is the same price from b&q.

Make sure it's empty take out the valve (yes it does stink) fill with water for a few days, worked for me.
I guess it wouldn't do to take a gas axe/plasma cutter to a freshly emptied bottle

Flue pipe was a peice of old washing line post around 2" in dia.
Month of Sundays..you wont need that took me just over a day lol inc tea breaks/pub breaks/lunch breaks etc....
Materials:
1x old gas bottle
4' scrap tube
6" 12mm bar
2" 14mm tube
some
And of course the usual cussing/bad language/blue cloud

The door was cut using some cheapo Aldi stainless cutting discs (around 2mm), the corner "radiussess" or radii lol were cut with the same narrow discs but using worn down one's which with their smaller diameter made it easier to cut the tight corners.
As I ran out of small worn discs I finished off with a broken hacksaw blade in my air saw.

The bigger smoke stack will proberbly be fine, You'll have 4 times the flow of the existing one,

A friend of mine has one similar and he just put two 2" pipes in to create more draught, it works well.
