yea it would be quite difficult as you would have to climb half way up and hook it over the ridge 1stEr, I wasn't planning on unfolding it on the roof.
We don't use ours to climb up the slope we use them to come down to the laddersyea it would be quite difficult as you would have to climb half way up and hook it over the ridge 1st
To be fair Mr Snoop there is a difference between john in his garage welding a gearcase for a bantam and a Fella going up on a roof after he,s asking advice on making a folding roof ladder...But yes maybe we are being a bit petty so i reckon the folding ladder could be made really easy using these...if the OP wants the link all he has to do is askIf no one ever modified anything and took a chance we wouldn't have half the stuff that's been invented over the years, it's as simple as if factories can produce them so can a guy in a shed on a smaller scale, let's take our very own John @doubleboost as an example, he produces some cracking stuff in his garage, should people be telling him not to do it ? Of course not, can you imaging fred dibnah on here, nope Fred you can't do that you may blow the guy passing you in the opposite direction on his way to see his brother uncles aunt don't take the risk, lighten up people he's not building a space craft

Ps. If you think that people shouldn't be modifying or making things then I don't think this forum is for you as there has been lots made and modified over the years and we've not heard of anyone killing themselves or others yet.
AHH well bri, I never quoted anyone but the general feeling was it's dangerous but people have made all sorts on here with much more stress critical fixings joints etc, after all it's a roof ladder not one he's getting onto a roof withDont ever remember saying that but i will let you have it

Paul i don't mess around with roof stuff and being safe as this post illustratesAHH well bri, I never quoted anyone but the general feeling was it's dangerous but people have made all sorts on here with much more stress critical fixings joints etc, after all it's a roof ladder not one he's getting onto a roof with
That's not a tall step ladder.
At school in the 60s we had one that was around 20' tall. It was of course wooden and a bit loose.
We used it to get up to adjust the spots and floods for stage shows. Definitely a bit wobbly when you got to the top
That looks a little to steep for me i don't mind ladders but not when you are almost fighting gravity while trying to work. The last thing you want to do is let go of the ladder and of course that's the very first thing you have to do.
Honestly if ladders were invented last week, they would be getting banned by parliament next week.
OSHA list all their fatalities with descriptions. 3009 ladder deaths so far in 2019 (screenshot attached)
