So I have ordered a Hypertherm PowerMax 45XP to drive one of my 8x4 CNC tables that I'm converting over to Plasma.
Cheers @Tom Orrow L for a great deal .
It is a single phase unit and requires a full 32A when running at full chat but can draw up to 36A during Arc Stretch.
See manual:
It is much easier for me to install a 32A supply from a sub panel rather than a 63A/50A supply from the main panel.
As I'm running only via a CNC controller with a proper THC (PriceCNC AVHC10) I can't imaging that I'm going to have any stretched Arc events.
Do you guys think I can reliably get away with a 32A supply?
Most of the time it will be cutting 2mm and 3mm MS so won't be anywhere near it's full output but I do want it to be able to stretch it's legs when required.
