So it is onto the spindle rather than the backplate of the chuck?
It clamps tightly around both I turned the back plate down To the same diameter as the spindal

What dia is the bronze? I need a piece around 3.5” to make a hub retaining nut for my aero engineThe 8" nominal bore pipe arrived today which allowed me to turn the step on the end caps, I always wait until I have the pipe as the sizes can vary slightly between lots and I want an nice press (batter with hammer) fit.

Bandsaw comes in handy as a bench.

The next step was to do a bit more machining to them, it left this.

It is only 1 1/2" just barely enough for me to square off and have enough to grip for machining. What dia is the bronze? I need a piece around 3.5” to make a hub retaining nut for my aero engine
Ah booger. Will have to make it out of steel then!It is only 1 1/2" just barely enough for me to square off and have enough to grip for machining.
Because I can be a bit of an oaf at times I broke the plastic handwheel on the vice on my new bandsaw:View attachment 194147 View attachment 194146
I suspect a manufacturing defect as the metal ring inside is cracked, however I couldn't be bothered to take the whole thing back so I made a new wheel...

It's significantly sturdier than the plastic one...
I finished this off and fitted it
That's not going to do much for your finish at higher speeds.
maybe I can always cut the banjo part off and get it on the mill to drill and tap a new pinch bolt inWould a simple split circle of steel inch thick wall with a hex cap pinch bolt across / through the split in to threaded hole on one side of the split be better for balance rather than a heavy bolt & banjo have been better ?
Presumably Chef didnt have one.
It is the Axminster swivel head job! I'm going to take them the handle back at some point and tell them it's carp. The rest of the saw seems pretty good...@Aesgarth is that the Axminster swivel head job?
Mine also has a home brewed handle replacing the broken original.
Maybe they’re all 5h1te, or perhaps we’re both oafs!

Which model, I've got the engineer series one and it's excellent.
