Good old Watneys - a Watneys lorry reversed into my beloved Opel Manta back in the early 80's. I got three quotes and took it to my brother's body shop ; ended up quids in...

Being a rebate plane it is allow you to cut as close to the end as possible.

I had a 2lt one in 1988, when I was based near Petersfield.
A Car of many colours, it was a 1980 version. I was soon to learn how thin the metal was on them.

Wilton Roundabout, seat came loose and right hand bends became window hugging bends.

I found out the B post was attached with chicken mesh and filler. B&Q job.

The boot leaked.

But the engine was good. 3 points speeding on the A272.

Mine was dented by the reversing lorry in Portsmouth , the pic was taken at RAF Brize Norton ..1982/3

I had a stripe along side and mini stripes all along bonnet , wolf race wheels and twin Weber carb. Pride and joy back then : )

Mine wasn't dented by me, but it was welded by me many times.

The Weber twin made a big difference, but fuel was cheep then.
It was a great weekend wagon

One thing, the driver would have been sober even if he’d been drinking Watneys Red Barrel, it was so weak it was almost impossible to get drunk on it.

Today I acquired an AC to DC PWM controller.

It cost about £5 delivered from China. I hooked it up to a motor that was originally a spindle motor on a small CNC lathe.

It seems to work as advertised although I have not tested the RPM yet to see if it is getting to full speed but I tried stopping the motor by grabbing the shaft at 12v and it was impossible to do.

Not sure what I will use the motor for if indeed anything but at least now I can easily power it and vary the speed so maybe one day I will find a use

A new triathlon style wetsuit, bought as a “If today’s Colonoscopy goes well” present to myself. And it did .

Seriously sexy thin neoprene, tight enough to leave little to the imagination, and a pervert’s delight to wear , am looking forward to contorting myself into it and getting into some open water swimming. Off work for the next couple of weeks on Doctor’s orders, (haven’t slept well for a long time what with one thing and another, and when I told the Doc that I drive an artic for a living, she prescribed a course of sleeping tablets and signed me off straight away...), so hoping to get in the water asap.

Definitely NOT looking forward to putting it on though. Even after losing half a stone in weight with worry in the last 2 weeks, it has to be literally peeled on using copious amounts of either talcum powder or baby oil , and needs a very steady hand and very short finger nails to avoid damaging the thin neoprene. Mind you, it feels quite nice once it’s on

I have a couple of big presses in the yard for the truck/plant gear, an old pre war clunker thats 65+ton and really nicely made,another which is a churchill 15ton floor standing which I move around with the forklift to wherever I need it. That little red one is surprisingly well made and just for working on the toys so I dont have to go out in the rain

Any wise man would of done a bit of checking, before assuming a Henry can do wet and dry.

My skip one, does not like water.
It tells me on it.

I'm hoping you realize it wasn't me that made Henry snort water!!!

Maybe waterproof seals/bearings between the motor and suction fan?

What is that fitting for, emptying the water out?

That's a Charles wet and dry and I think the fitting is for carpet cleaning as it had a diaphragm pump attached to it.

My brother tried it once, only once too! He hoovered water straight out the toilet and broke it!!!

I have a Henry, hetty and a James,
All 3 found/gifted for free.

Only thing I found he doesn't like is absorbent granules.
Or the fact they had absorbed petrol and when hovered up the fumes ignited from the motor sparks and sounded like a jet turbine spooling up.

Was great but slightly scary.

Alas Henry is not well
Looks like the knuckle draggers on site have used him without a bag and abused him badly, the switch was knackered so I think Cro Magnon man launched him across site in frustration and bent the motor shaft and / or fan blades.
He runs but sounds like a 60 a day smoker on crack!
I'll use the good bits to repair my first ever skip dive Henry that needs a few parts so he didn't die in vain!
