All cadburys chocolate bars shrank in size after the Americans took them over. See it with a lot of things get smaller and the price remains the same.
Things haven't changed that much, I remember one of my boys asking the the USB stick in my car would keep playing even though I had switched to radio
That's because in surveys people will always chose the cheaper option ie keeping the price the same even if it means the product is smaller. The same thing happened when councils asked people if they would pay more council tax to keep the services the same or keep the price the same and cut the services in most cases people chose to keep the price the same

There is Cadburys factory a couple of miles from my house that makes the chocolate crumb, it's in the middle of nowhere although it's next to a main road. It must bug the hell out of the parent company because the tried moving production to another place and it didn't taste the same so they moved the whole plant and it still didn't taste the same so they moved it back and it remains where it is. It must be the water and the enviroment there that makes the difference

Even at that, the first real supercar I was aware of was the GT40, two years before that.
It's all relative though; kids in the 50s were drooling over C and D-Type Jags, the supercars of their day.

I think I’d have to disagree with this, despite sharing similar styling ideas the Lancia just looked “right” and was very good looking for a euro box hatchback.A neighbour of mine had a Ford Pop and moved on to a very early 1600E then an SZ Alfa, all as daily drivers in the early 90’s. Try that today.
Edit: The styling grew on me back then as in the flesh it was quite a sight, different and rare. Delta Integralle were looked at similarly at the time.
I believe the SV was almost universally panned when it was launched and had the nickname “il Mostro”

@8ob You'll remember this too - I reshaped the shape of the combustion chambers of a Mini [van] using a 'pull out' template from the mag. Happy days!!

One of the LeMans winning cars went through a friends shipping company recently valued at £20m accompanied by an Aston Martin valued at £25m. Mental money.
Probably worth more than the ship they're being shipped in/on.
