Hyper-V can also be enabled on Home Edition

I've just enabled Hyper-V on W10 LTSB without any great hopes of much.
I'd tried re-enabling the VMWare installation I had but it kept crashing, same with Virtualbox.

Hyper-V seems to be working well enough after a false start - tip: create a virtual network connection before installing the VM (Mint 19.1).
This allows me to use Mint for t'internet thingy for relative safety and keeps Windies for the legacy stuff on my box that Linux doesn't do well.

Sorry I couldn't help myself....I'd be more worried about buying a W10 disc on fleabay and installing it....or trusting a pre installed w10 on a new laptop with the usual bloatware!

I installed hyperV on my laptop with the intention of installing Linux so I can do some home automation and web development while I'm commuting. It doesn't have to do much, most of the tools are on the linux installed in the VM, I just need to be able to access the web server in the VM from the native OS. Would HyperV allow you to do that simple thing easily? No, tried all the available tips on line, and I even asked our work PC support gurus to have a go, they struggled and eventually gave up.

I installed virtual box, was up and running in moments. Well until my bank insisted I installed some IBM Rapport endpoint security which screwed it up, took ages to find out what was causing it as I didn't use virtual box for a few weeks. Then my bank stopped insisting on the IBM software, probably due to complaints. So uninstalled it and had various issues ever since. Going
to perform a fresh install of windoze 10, or may run it in a Linux VM.

I just installed a 32 bit Enterprise version as I already had the disk and key from a computer I purchased but dont need Windows 10 on it. SO after installing and activating it it appears the graphics card i have only has 64bit drivers for it now. Which is annoying as the key is universal according to the seller of the desktop who only gave me the 32 bit as it was the only disk he had at home.

To be fair, if the graphics vendor doesn't have 32bit drivers then that's really on them rather than Microsoft. But as Philip suggests, most vendors still supply both 32 and 64bit.

Just about to update and say all went well and everything was hunky dory BUT it failed and I know why now. But not before I installed Windows 10 Enterprise evaluation version.
You CANT convert an evaluation version you need to reinstall.....why not just tell you that before you waste time testing with an non upgradable product.

The Volume Licensing Service Center is the only place I can find a safe ISO and you need to be a large business to access that...... I will not be beaten

The media creation tool will only create the ISO for Pro and Home . Not Enterprise. You have to login for the Volume Licencing and have a business.
You CAN get an Evaluation version but it only lasts for 90 days and you CAN NOT use your Enterprise key (which is valid for 32bit and 64bit Enterprise versions)

You can get it if you have an MSDN account allegedly but i dont have such an account and i only have the 32bit Enterprise ISO.
I realise i am being pedantic but part of my hobby involves learning, i am keen to learn the real world differences...
