That doesn't bother me.
It's those that shove a bit of copper and a bulb holder in to a vice etc waste a salvageable vice for a bit of tat that doesn't look good.

I was at a car boot yesterday and come across a stall with about 6 different "lights" which were basically old tools or other stuff with a hole drilled through them and a lamp holder attached utter garbage! No artistic element whatsoever.
I then heard the same vendor at another stall saying I'll make a light out of this, he was holding a large cast iron piece that looked like a foot peddle off an old lathe or sowing machine. I almost offered to buy it off him just to save it but instead wondered off muttering sacrilege under my breath .
I had to explain to my boy what I was on about.
@selectedgrub your creations are absolutely amazing! I can't even start to imagine how you turn lumps of metal into the things you do.
This thing is brilliant I'd love to own it! Not sure on the postage to the UK though....

I’ve a half-concocted plan to turn these two augers into gate posts. The top would take a railing beautifully and look stunning too. They’re a nightmare to use, lots of hard work (I did try!). Must be about a hundred years old.
