Hot day!

What a scorcher! I dug the old AC out of the shed and set it up in the workshop, it hasn't been allowed indoors for many years since a family of mice died inside it, I cleaned it out but she still wasn't having it! It works a treat, took the temperature down to 19 deg, the dog moved in for the day too!

nice it was so hot in the kitchen today the motor on the extraction decided to blow up monday after the rain!

Big room with windows on two sides for the last few days. Sun all day and me cooking inside.

just got my mobile cooler going Tonight and bought a new van with aircon makes life a lot more comfortable and can work better with it. i take a large fan to work out of a warm air unit and everyone's fighting over it if I leave it to go to other jobs

34° i was roasting. Out towing cars and doing roadside repairs in all-black uniform and hi-viz. Awful.

I had 37° in the van today! Bloody boss is to tight to get any with air con. Just means I work a lot slower
I soak my t shirt with water then put the fan on and it's surprisingly cool

My shop made it to 32 in the afternoon. Metal roof heats the space above the suspended ceiling during the morning and we slowly baste from 12 noon onwards

42°C over here yesterday. Spent the morning installing some SS railings, then the PM working (slowly..)in the w/shop. Luckily the house is old and stone, so coolish inside.

Just looked and it is 22° at 7 am.....

Im almost tempted to go into work later this week just to be in an air conditioned office during the afternoon. Im not a fan of the sun (or hot weather) and if I had a DNA test done it would show that Im part vampire.

serously though I dont know how you guys can work all day in the elivated temperatures doing a physical job with all the personal protection equipment on, after half an hour Im wanting to give up working in it.

Parked last night in York and spent most of it wide awake and pouring with sweat, the only respite was watching a great lightning display at daft o’clock and standing out in the rain to cool down.

some years back I was doing a delivery to a firm head quarters in basingstoke, car recovery type,not the rac the other yellow one,their head office, it was this sort of temperature ,I was cooking in the van, anyways,got there found the right office and stood waiting for the guy to sign/accept,a guy walks in interupts, says everyones ready to walk out as temp has exceeded 62 or 64,I was in dis belief, I butted in ,what are you all fred king crazy ! its 80 plus outside, i have been cooked in my van its like luxury in here, at that he walked of.
the guy signed my book and said thanks...some people just dont know how well off they are.

Yeah the PPE thing has gone too far now, hat, boots, hi viz, gloves, goggles in 38° temperatures is not on. Its definitely not "safe" either!

Sounds like he used to work for British Leyland......

On another note driving around London in the heat does have some ehem, visual delights.....

Unfortunately in our paint booth at work you can't turn off the burners so they are always on and it got to 42 degrees today ☹ not great for painting and even worse when your wearing a paint suit. My gloves were filled with sweat...
