Do I keep it?

I've just taken the plunge and ordered an R-tech digital 210A AC/DC machine to replace the little Clarke 145A stick welder that's been frustrating me for years now.

The question is, do I have any reason at all to keep the Clarke machine?

I don't have loads of free space in the garage, and I'm sure I could par it off to someone for £50.

But is there anything that the new machine can't do which the Clarke can?

I think you're looking nearer £10 than £50 for the buzz-box.

Personally I'd keep it, I have a Mono Welder buzz box and it's great for the thicker stuff, just switch it on and go.

It all depend on what you're going to be welding though.

It’s worth nothing I’m afraid as far as cash value is concerned but it’s not worth keeping either. Pass it on to a friend or family member that might be interested in starting out

It is worth may be £10 - £15.

If it works, keep it.

You will never know when it will be useful.

One day you will want to cut off the most difficult bit to get at you could imagine - you can't get a plasma near it (if you have one), nothing will do it.
Then a light goes on in your head - bang a rod into the stick welder, crank it up and make sure your trousers are abobe your boot tops!

Keep it. For what youl sell it for it will save you removing Mig wire and torch for half an hours stick welding.

TIG I guess, not seen any AC migs (outside of a toy shop at least)

keep it, so when you have a crappy job you can chuck it in the boot of the car, and it doesnt matter...or "friend" (I use that term loosely) wants to borrow it..let it go.

keep it i have both a 90 amp arc welder and a clarke 150 mig welder

ive also upgraded and got a 110b oil welder thats a dream to arcx weld with and weld all day just for fun with it

ive even got a cebora 195 mig welder

so ive added to what ive got already
