Best adhesive to stick hammer head to handle

cheers guys, interesting about adding things to epoxy to make it more flexible. so its time for an update,

I end up drilling the head and then shaping it with a dremel type carbide burr, as it it pretty hard to file and the handle is a tight fit without it wobbling. I havnt got any hammer wedges yet, but Im thinking I can make some round wedges as I've got a lathe and some silver steel, but will it need to be hardened and tempered?

Make you own wooden wedges.
If done correctly no glue is needed.

Warm the head up, until spit bubbles. Press the shaft into head.
Until a snug fit, drive the wedge in, allow to cool.
dress the top of the shaft up, use.
