I hate anything with a soft start...if you add up all the times you have waited for soft starts to kick in then we have probably wasted about 2 whole days of our lives looking at a disc or blade

Soft start on grinders was great when Mini Me was younger. Gave Mini Me a chance to get used to the tool powering up.

Now Mini Me can handle most tools, maybe I will hide the chain saws.

Where did you purchase this from and how much?

I’ve the afternoon changing the front ball joints on the Shogun. Most stressful part of the job was trying to get grease into them with my Sealey grease gun. Grease everywhere expect in the ball joint. Got there in the end but too much time wasted and cleaning up afterwards.

Cromwell Tools search for item part no 37540, but be worned sit down with a very stiff drink in the hand and that's for a bare unit only....

Yes its a lot, but they do seem to last a life time, probably alot longer.

Considering the amount of crap ones I've purchased over the years, I should of stumped up the cash 45+years ago it would have been cheaper in the long run.

Need to find a new location to ride. The neighbour took umbridge to us using the deserted sports field so we stopped riding a couple of years back

They are. Clearly homemade but by someone that knows what they're doing and how to machine. All blocks have been squared off on the lathe and they've even made a release system for the top roller to get the job out.

Visited Carew market and boot sale near Pembroke Dock this morning and spent more than I wanted!

One guy selling refurbished tools I got a rake £4, bolster chisel £2, lump hammer £4, sledge £5, then I found a mullered lump hammer in another stall for £1 and an axe handle so I can repair the hammer for 50p!

I was after a strimmer for tidying around the van and found this multi cutter for £50 so I couldn’t leave it there.....

Then a handle for my damaged spade for £4

Then I came across this young pikey in a transit selling power tools TOOOO cheap and scored this Bosch SDS for £15. I was unable to check it anywhere so have been on pins all day until I got home to check I didn’t waste money. My heart died when it didn’t start but I found the N had pulled out of the 110v plug

That brought memories streaming back Ardy , two colours IIRC one a reddish dark plum and the other a mid to dark green . I recall playing with both of ours as a pre school kiddie which must have been Circa 1953 to 1955

I'm fed up buying bits of useless junk that airlock, can't be bled, spew their contents out, don't screw together properly, quit pumping half way through, the plunger jams and are generally cheap awful tat.

I got one too, mine cost about £26 IIRC second hand , at the time I was only using it to grease the tow bar of our Baileys Caravan , then I got an old Sphere lathe that had screw down oil caps to lube the spindle bearings . Had a bit of a job getting two 5/16" ANF 45 degree grease nipples to replace the caps but managed it with the help of Ardy & his knowledge . Now instead of giving each grease cap a 1/3 turn every time I want to use the lathe I give it a couple of centimetres of movement on the grease gun lever .

My oh my , has that quietened the lathe down or what . I suspect there was as much grease escaping past the well worn threads on the brass screw caps as was likely to get pushed through the drillings on to the taper rollers .

Interesting. Every one i've ever used has been rubbish. They work fine when they're new and have a full cartridge, buy it all goes downhill fast. My cheap nasty work one is rubbish, the end nozzle always gets stuck on too.

There's a technique to getting them off , top pumping tip the delivery tube /hose slightly side ways then pull , straight pulls are not meant to happen as that's when the high pressure grease is supposed to be transferred .

I do not KNOW that the drill was stolen and at the end of the day he’d been there all morning selling and hadn’t been arrested and and none of these tools were marked so a sweeping generalisation was made (and yes I did mention I maybe shouldn’t have made that statement! I thought the drill was a bargain BUT it needed a minor repair to the flex that maybe he couldn't accomplish. Who knows?

Sorry fella but there was no need for your reply in my opinion. I’ve been on here for quite a while and know the way the site works.
I purchased and took a chance the drill wasn’t Fubar however it needed a little work.
I dont know if he was a thieving scumbag, I’ll never know but someone would have purchased it if I hadn’t. These drills are roughly £98 new and there was another at another stall in the boot for £30 so I got this cheap but there were no guarantees when I got it so buyer beware.
