Thank you gents I did think I was being tight but I just thought it was a lot for a hammer considering my last one was a tenner

Yep. I have a few older Sykes-Pickavant and a bunch of the Kennedy hammers and dollies. Find them really good for panel work and keep the faces smooth.

When i first started work, (on site Selby mine Complex) if a Joiner was found without a hammer, either in his hand or on his belt. He was sacked on the spot. Site foreman said you weren't a joiner if you didn't have a hammer in your hand, he made one bloke wear a lanyard, after he’d kicked his down the Upcast shaft 708m down to the Barnsley Seam.
He was lucky to keep his job, the coal board spent days checking the shaft for damage

Wouldn't expect a joiner to need a hammer in hand all the time.

Just saying the Kennedy and Sykes-Pickavant panel beating hammers are the same; just different colours and different name on the side. Obviously made in the same factory. Sykes are no longer made in the U.K. They even have the same model numbers. I have a couple of the new Sykes-Pickavant and they are same as the Kennedy hammers.

worked in bodyshops for over 25 years, only ever had 1 hammer, never stuck yet.
