did a bit more on me norton
machined the liner to take a ring made of 1.6 cunifer welding wire silver soldered at the join to upgrade the head gasket sealing arrangement
i machined an old casting from an oldmilking machine to take a boyer electr
onic ignition from a mates 850 commando thats the round bit on the timing cover with the red wires going in ,i went the 2 plug route so twin 6v coils in series
What a revelation !!!
timed at 28 deg max ,it fired up instantly an almost idled ,as well as possible wit a wild over lap cam
it now kick starts so no more heart attacks in the post
it revs to 7 200 claen as a whistle
and dosent leak oil
i have a magneto
beltdriven on clutchside as a a get you home if i go too far and run out of volts on the total loss boyer set up
just pull out the cardboard between the points cople up the ht lead and home james
