I've a big enlargement to my house going on ,
as a joiner by trade and have been done four house builds start to finish ,
I thought new enough to dig the footing in virgin sand , remove the over burden including top soil and crap the hole site left on the corner plot ,
Building control has been to inspect footings pre concrete,
I removed all the crap from down to clean sand to 100 mm below new footing height ,
As it's my house I've over spect the footing at 300 mm deep
Sub floor is going to be 100mm c40 with 6mm rebar mesh over 1200 gauge visquein, again over spec,
construction is a suspended timber floor with spine walls concrete was thickened to 200 mm below each spine wall
I'm only 500 mm below outside floor level to the top of the footings,
As it's only sub floor , I rang control and asked did I need to be there and was told no ,
Today's visit came and I got I phone call saying it wouldn't be passed,
Reason a bit vague,
I've taken to much sand away , ??????
I explained it was a suspended timber floor ,
Answer I don't understand, i tried to explain to no avail, needs another visit !!!!!!
Had to cancel concrete, plant hire , 3 men ,
Does this look right to anyone
