32A 3 phase sockets

i wonderd if any of you sparkeys out there no if you can tell me if you can fun a 32A 3 phase 5 pin plugs like a ring main and if so what size cable and what braker is needed

First question, why would you want to!!

The terminals on the 32A socket are only rated at 32A, so the maximum size breaker you could use on the circuit would be 32A... So, plugging two things into your circuit may well trip the breaker! Much better to run a separate circuit for each socket that you want to serve.

they MUST be a single radial. As for cable size need more info cable length, supply type total load and voltage under load at source

Danny, you can put them on a busbar system like this - click low power busbar , rather than a ring (MK, you should have beaten me to that suggestion). So a radial from the box isn't strictly required. The busbar to machine links are fused though.

I don't pay for 'em, I just hang em!

They do need fuses for each outlet, indeed. We put them in at work as it saved a lot of hassle fitting individual cables, and also meant the machines in the shop could be moved easily, with no hassle to move wiring (it has turned out to be very useful).

Second hand ones quite cheap from local elec contractors - pulled out of Longbridge so it might be worth looking around, maybe local scrappies?

That's the difference, I dont think twice about busbars, SWA and 3 phase etc. but sometimes scratch my head and have to refer to regs for domestic work!
