Stainless solid round bar - is it readily available in 15mm and 16mm dia or is one or the other more common?

You can get both in 304 and 316, dont know which is more common, perhaps the 16, a phonecall to check the price in the morning will make one 'very difficult to get hold of' i expect

Making a bit of a guess, id expect the 16 to be the more common.

Yup, Paul not Hitch, this weekend`s getting me. I`ll have a check in the morning, if iv`e got any there will be enough for what you want. I know damn well there are 2 buckets under the bench with offcuts of 8 and 12mm stainless, all 350mm long. must be over 100 of each.

we use alot of the 16mm stainless at work for hinges. dont ask lol. dunno the grade but the end is painted. got about 40 cut over 300mm

Yes, 16mm is preferred as it will fit a certain socket jobby that needs to slide onto them. Let me know how much you want

They use them as sliding -joints for spanning expansion-joints in concrete, so shouldn't be hard to get. 20mm is very common for that.

304l is fine, post office can be used up to 20kg - shouldnt weigh more than that?
Not going to have chance to pick up, but hang on to that bottle for me!
