Hello,
I bought a roll of ESAB OK AristoRod 12.50 wire, having always used Super6 or other cheap 5kg rolls before. It was just about as cheap (from Rapid), and I assumed better in every way.
Looking at it, its obviously not copper coated. A quick look at the specs state 'Uncoated'. Should I be kicking myself for falling into this trap, or is there a good reason why it is not coated but all (well, all the other wire I have experience of) is coated? Like...a slightly different alloy that is somehow less succeptable to corrosion? Im assuming that the normal copper coating is for corrosion resistance.
The welder lives in the back of a van so moisture is inevitable.
Thanks,
Matt
