100% agree with you about prep/application My recommendation for the Bilt Hamber was based on experience, but I did say I was "not sure" with regards to the Raptor and it was only my opinion. I purchase and use a lot of things based on experience/recommendations from forums such as this, but if I didn't take notice then what's the point in using a forum for information in the first place! Quite rightly you've given your advice based on your own experience, which the OP has now seen because he "read on the internet". I don't see how this is any different to me reading about the experience that someone on another forum has had with the same product and taking notice of that?

I'm always open to advice and guidance, and certainly grateful of abundance of it on this forum, but when I'm in doubt, I'll always err on the side of caution

Carefull that could be an isocyanate acrylic paint system.

2K normally refers to isocyanate and the technical sheets on that website do not appear to be clearly liked from the product pages.

Epoxy is 2k in that it has an activator but it doesn't have isocyanate in it

I don't know a great deal about 2K paints other than they should only be used in a controlled set up, which I presume is down to the isocyanate If the epoxy is 2K without isocyanate, does it mean that there is 2K paint without isocyanate available? Sorry for being clear as mud

So it tells you nothing about isocyanate content and the relevant data sheet should be used if unsure. To date we have never found an epoxy primer that contains isocyanates, certainly in the case of Jotun and Lechler 29107, you can use conventional PPE.

i went with the gravitex in the end and tiger seal as a seam sealer as i have lots of it and man is that stuff good stuff!!
it spreads easy, doesnt run and if stippled on leaves quite a nice finish.
i bet if used with an air gun applicator it woudl be awsome.
i poured some into a platic bowl to apply it, when it had dried in the bowl (painted it tuesday so its been a while) i bent the bowl expecting the gravitex to crack and peel off........ no chance!
its stuck good to the plastic bowl and im genuinly amazed how far it flexis
so i think it should last a good while.
thanks for all the recomendations, before i toddle off i seem to recall someone saying to overpaint the gravitex with aldi metal paint?
something to do with leaving a gloss finish so dirt will slide off easier?
i happen to have a few rattle cans off the stuff i could use once the gravitex is fully cured

finished the last of the painting today so by next week should be good to start putting stuff back together.
seems to be going off well.
one question though can i use solvent basecoat over the rtop and then laquer so its body coloured?

yes you can paint over it
