I had a bad time at tesco opticians.I had two identical pairs from Tesco opticians at the last eye test, £9 with Tesco points. The look of despair on the girls face when she was trying to sell me differing pairs, bifocals and lens coatings etc was priceless, lots of but but but and how about etc. D&A have taken Tesco opticians over now If I remember correctly.
I think it’s vision express - I’ve used Tesco for years for my contact lenses but since they went over to vision express the price seems to be about double and service worse, so I think I’ll be looking elsewhere soon!I had two identical pairs from Tesco opticians at the last eye test, £9 with Tesco points. With respect to the issue of scratched lenses, they can only scratch if you take them off and wipe the dust off with your shirt tails or other piece of cloth. If you don't touch them, they will not scratch so that is down to poor technique, rinse them under the tap first or pour water over them before going near them with anything that would act like a piece of cloth with dust trapped in it acting like sandpaper. I use proper lens cleaning fluid and proper lens cloths. Lets be honest, would you wash your car with an old dish cloth you dropped on the ground a couple of times?
I don't want to look like a t*t either so as with many things, moderation is the key. What I DO want though, is to be able to see, I want to be able to read the etching on a 4mm tap and I want to be able to recognise who is coming through the door. Two extremes the right glasses can accomplish without having to squint.
