I've been looking at the R-tech ProArc 175 and Thermal Arc 175 over the past few days with the hope of upgrading from my current Sealey Mightmig 100. The lack of adjustability with power settings has been driving me nuts. I did initially look at the R-Tech 180, but figured it was a bit too expensive, so focused primarily on stick welders, figuring it's smaller and cheaper but offers more option with power. But now i'm swaying back over to the Mig machine with the idea of combining it with the MMA stick leads. That way I can do some stainless steel welding without having to buy gas with stainless steel wire, or having to find a source of flux core stainless steel that isn't ridiculously expensive and if I want to go the gas option with MIG in future I can without having to buy another welder. But with regards to TIG welding, would there be any issues with just getting a tig torch with this unit. Only issue I can think of would be the size of the DINs connector, but i'm assuming you could get a converter of some kind.
Also does anyone know if machine can do flux core wire. I still have 0.9mm rolls, and the drive rollers on this machine take 0.6mm and 0.8mm. Would it be possible to buy rollers for different sizes and for flux type?.
Thanks for reading.
EDIT: Also, if i order it with a plug, does this include installation?
