There was one of these at my uni, a Geka, I never saw anyone use it - it had a sign on it which said ‘students must not use this machine’ which begged an obvious question, why was it there? It gained a new coat of paint every year, despite sitting idle...

Never seen an Ali deak corrod away even with the ones that come to me and admit it not hundreds as I only play with them for hobbie had one that been sat for 5 years with grass under it sat in a tall grass all it needed was a scrape candle clean the deak was fine

The only 2 I seen with holes one had a big gap at the front where some one had driven it in to a tree stump and cracked the cast and one where some one had dropped a heavy item on it and made a hole

I have seen ally decks eaten away by repeatedly not cleaning them after use! With our damper climate over here that acidic wet grass will eventually eat away the aluminium. Anyone with farming experience will know how corrosive silage effluent is. It's made up of the juices from the fermenting grass & it will eat through concrete!

I was there as an Electrical Fitter apprentice from ‘78 to ‘82. Was a journeyman in the Weapons Test Bay above No 2 Shop. You probably know my old Skipper Vic Richardson and some of the other old timers!
