bit of quick feedback as got a chance (as got to pickup in an hour if im havin it) a telwin 162

as above got a chance of a telwin 162 for a fair price £80 but looking on google there does not seam to be much detals about them or meny people selling them apart from ebay and even that is a few low amount

Bit late now (1 hr + ) Think you will find they are built fro same components as Sealey and Sigen machines. Several Italian components (much like very early Clarke machines).

Well if it works ok then at that price is good. I have seen battered old Sips going on ebay for more !!
It will still be a small feed motor typical of that range of home welders. (think Clarke 150, as in fixed torch and not euro)

ok got a new welder will post a pic later on as per normal said xyz all working fine turns up birds nest in the case gasless wire all dusty wire feed not working after 20 mins of faf i burnt some wire but eratic could not get more than a blob oh and near forgot the earth clamp is shot as well

any how seeng the condition of it was not amussed and said so wasted trip and all that he replyed make me an offer i did and it came home with me
first job is to put a new expensive liner in it and take off i would assume to be most of the wire see if i can get to good wire underneath im going to run it for a day or 2 on gasles wire if i have any left on the roll great if not i got 2 rolls of lidl finest to have a go with
this is only with luck to see if it welds ok then will be the change over to gas and see if the pipe work on it is any good and a good clean up of all the case inc the wire feed (any info on cleaning this up assume im not alowed to oil it)

i was using the super s gasless wire small reel

welded some stuff up spot on nice weld so bought a 5kg roll was a pain to weld with sometimes get a nice weld other most times not

yea i know the problems with the carp wire and quality due to who ever puts the best qoute in for the cheapest wire at the time

i only bought it for a quick try i think both rolls where 6 quid for the 2 so if i was trying a welder it would spark and lay a carp bead to give me an idea if it was working

After a new curtain liner and a clean up welds well still a few niggles still a bit of noise I dont like

And I dont know how to adjust the cable drum for tension

yep had one last night you must be gifted he was hoping around

and there my boots not his all he moaned about that it burnt his new socks

update the welder now has a new return clip and is still set up for no gas as not had a chance to have a go with the gas as of yet

any ideas on how to give tension to the spool guys ? there seans to be no screw mech as on a clark

would this unit be better than the clark beeing an older unit i know it only has a few settings on it as my clark has 3 switches this only has 2 for the ajustments

Sorry about delay, only remembered in passing and took a couple of snaps.
Shots of the spindle, the order the things go on and the holder in two positions to suit the different thickness of 5kg and 450 / 700g reels.

yes the same set up as mine does yours put any pressure one a small reel at all ive got a small reel in there gasless wire from lidl

Yes, it does put a bit of drag on it. I never had to pack it out on the Telwin, but on the other one I've had to do that, using a narrow slice of pex and a rubber washer until I was happy with it.
