Anyone had any experience of this kit . Any good?
I got a Castolin 2202 identical to Fronius mw2200. 2500 EuroAnyone know of a reasonable budget machine for tig with AC capacity?
I believe thw warranty for the stalewerke welder is return to base. But I that means posting back too Germany.
The cheapest ac tig with reasonable nalme is the Eastwood one from frosts but that looks to be out of stock. So I'd expect an updated model and a higher price. All the rest are at least a grand new.
I'd be keeping an eye ot for a good second had one.
Have said it before, Stahlewerk tools are just badged up Chinese stuff....
They have vans travelling Europe flogging this stuff calling everywhere....
Totally overpriced when they called in on me.....
When I said no, they then said make me an offer...
Not saying it's crap but they are using German to fool punters...
Also watch out there are copies of Makita elec tools going around
BUT they are the wrong shade of colouring...

For now it may be but that may change soon but that is something we should not expand on herePosting to Germany is dirt cheap these days - often less than Scotland or Northern Ireland!

And in my opinion anyone who thinks German stuff is wonderful and better than anyone else deserves to be fooled
Just a bit underpowered for Alu though unless it was thinnish stuff, say 3mm and under for continued use.The RTech 160 amp is good value, a decent welder for not to much money and a 3 year collect and return warranty. you could do worse.
